Jujubes are a fruit tree that deserves more attention. It grows abundantly in the wild in areas of China where the fruit, leaves and seeds have been used as a TCM herb for hundreds of years. Jujube seeds provide the same relaxing and stress-relieving effects (if not better) than kava or valerian, tastes better and is a useful shen tonic for cultivating a relaxed nervous system. It’s a good replacement to other relaxing herbs if you’re looking to explore something different but similar.
