Tulsi in Sanskrit means “incomparable one”. It has been utilized by the Ayurvedic tradition and Hindus for hundreds of years. It is considered a very Holy plant to many people. Many Hindus grow Tulsi in special pots, temples and in central courtyards, always keeping the herb close to their hearts. There are several types of Tulsi. Rama, Vana, Krishna and Shyama Tulsi, among others.
